Anti- Social Behaviour in Sudden , Rochdale

********* Local News In The Area  ****************

Recently, the P1 North Neighbourhood team  came across a group of youths congregating around Sudden/ Brimrod area which our Anti-social behaviour & Drug dealing hotspot area.

Officers stop searched these youths and took details from them

1x  Male was found with possession of cannabis on him .

Officers therefore made several referrals to the Youth Offending team

As we have been receiving numerous ASB reports regarding the same group of youths causing disturbance/ Distress in the local area.

The Youth Referral Team— Youth Offending Team (YOT) —plays a key role in supporting young people who’ve come into contact with the criminal justice system,

  • Organise Youth Offender Panels: These panels include community volunteers, the young person, their family, and sometimes the victim. Together, they agree on a contract to help the young person make amends and avoid reoffending.
  • Support Rehabilitation: They supervise the young person’s progress through activities like education, substance misuse support, or community service.
  • Promote Restorative Justice: Victims are encouraged to share how the crime affected them, and young people may write apology letters or take part in reparative actions.
  • Monitor Compliance: If the young person doesn’t stick to the contract, the team may refer the case back to court for further action.
  • The youth offending team play a vital role in the Youth Offending Team by providing comprehensive support and intervention for young offenders . Their multi disciplinary approach helps address underlying issues that contribute to offending behaviour, aiming to reduce re- offending rates and support positive outcomes for young people.
